Skip to why hotels need Monavel

WhatsApp

Connect your hotel's WhatsApp Business number so guest messages route into Monavel Reception AI alongside Telegram and website chat.

What you'll need first

WhatsApp connects differently from Telegram — there's no single bot token. You'll need a WhatsApp Business Account already set up in Meta's developer console (business.facebook.com), with a phone number added to it. If you don't have this yet, Meta's own WhatsApp Business Platform documentation walks through creating one.

Get your Phone Number ID and Access Token

In your Meta developer console, open your WhatsApp Business App → API Setup. You'll find your Phone Number ID listed directly, and can generate an Access Token from the same page. Copy both — you'll paste them into Monavel next.

Connect in Monavel

Open Settings → Channels → WhatsApp and paste your Phone Number ID and Access Token. Monavel verifies both against Meta before saving the connection, so a mismatched or expired token is caught immediately rather than failing silently later.

Webhook configuration (one-time, with Monavel)

Unlike the rest of this setup, pointing your Meta App's webhook at Monavel isn't fully self-service yet — Meta requires a single verification token shared across the whole platform, not one per hotel, so this specific step is done together with the Monavel team the first time your number is connected. Everything else on this page you can do on your own.

Test message

Send a WhatsApp message to your connected number. Confirm the conversation appears in Reception AI and that replies use your hotel's own knowledge base and context, the same as Telegram and website chat.
